资源简介:
This dataset contains an example route for urban commuting between PES University and IISc Bangalore. This route comprises multi-modal transit networks, which can be used between the source and destination depending on traffic conditions and commuter preferences. For a more accurate description, GIS data was used to define the routes and surrounding urban areas, as well as their characteristics. The route information is segregated into different layers, saved as shapefiles. Four additional layers for pre-defined routes are identified over the base layer containing information on all paths, streets and roads. The dataset also contains various attributes of the surrounding areas in the form of geotags. The software tools used for the GIS data extraction are QGIS, OpenStreetMaps, and Google Maps. The steps to reproduce this dataset is given below: 1. Define source and destination: For this case study, the Source is PES University, Karnataka, India, and the Destination is IISc Bangalore, Karnataka, India. 2. Extract OpenStreetMap(OSM) maps for the region between the source and destination. 3. Import OSM data in QGIS and merge geometries of the same type (points/ lines/ polygons). 4. Use of inbuilt Shortest path (point-to-point) algorithm to generate different routes. 5. Export layers consisting of routes as separate shapefiles.
