Triptych with a pieta (1487-95) by Bernt Notke in Lübeck. In 1640 it was brought to a newly built church on the island of Thurø near Svendborg, but its original provenance is unknown. The National Museum of Denmark (Copenhagen, Denmark). Made with Memento Beta (now ReMake) from AutoDesk. Triptych with a pieta - the Virgin Mary holding her dead son - in the centre. On each side an angel is kneeling with instruments of the Passion: cross, nails, pillar and whip. The wings have the remains of portraits of King Christian I (1448-81) and Queen Dorothea in her widow's gown, with St. Bartholomew and St. John as intercessors. The coats-of-arms of the royal couple are found on the breasts of the kneeling angels in the central part. in the inscription on the base the royal couple prays: "Jesus Christ, the Son of Mary, have mercy on us.
