Two frog species, green-and-black poison frog (Dendrobate auratus) and tungara frog (Physalaemus pustulosus), show different performance in place learning. Poison frog outperformed tungara frog in reversal learning of two-arm maze. This result is consistent with their different spatial demands in natural environment. In this project, we compared their transcriptomes of hippocampus to understand the gene regulatory mechanism of place learning in frog.
