Diet-driven transcriptomes of Biomphalaria glabrata

This project investigates transcriptomic and metatranscriptomic responses of Biomphalaria glabrata, a freshwater snail and intermediate host of Schistosoma mansoni, to three distinct dietary treatments. Illumina RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) was performed on the whole snail tissues of the NMRI strain of the snail. We hope that the resulting datasets will inform improved Biomphalaria glabrata husbandry and provide potential insights for schistosomiasis vector control strategies.
