资源简介:
This dataset contains the Supplementary Material associated with the PhD thesis of Arianna Bionda, titled “Biodiversity and Environmental Adaptation in Small Ruminants: Mapping Temporal and Spatial Genomic Changes in Italian Sheep and Goats” (Dipartimento di Scienze Agrarie e Ambientali - Produzione, Territorio, Agroenergia, Università degli Studi di Milano; PhD program in Agriculture, Environment and Bioenedgy; Cycle XXXVIII, 2024–2025; https://hdl.handle.net/2434/1199177). DATASET STRUCTURE The supplementary material is organised into sub-folders corresponding to each chapter of the thesis and includes additional data, figures, scripts, and documents referenced in the main text. Each file is named and structured according to the captions provided at the end of each chapter. When the “Supplementary Material” folder is placed in the same directory as the thesis PDF, the interactive links within the thesis allow direct access to the corresponding files. BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE PROJECT This PhD project investigates the genomic diversity, environmental adaptation, and vulnerability of Italian sheep and goat breeds. By integrating genomic, ecological, and demographic data, the research explores how environmental change, management practices, and historical processes have shaped the genetic structure and adaptive potential of small ruminant populations. Through a combination of population genomics, landscape genomics, and temporal analyses, the work maps spatial and temporal genomic patterns, identifies candidate genes linked to adaptation, and assesses the exposure of local breeds to future climatic and environmental risks. The results provide a comprehensive framework for understanding livestock biodiversity in Italy and contribute practical tools to guide conservation and sustainable management of small ruminant genetic resources under changing environmental conditions.
