资源简介:
This dataset provides high-resolution flow routing data for the mid-Atlantic coastal watersheds. The dataset utilizes unstructured meshes generated using the JIGSAW mesh generator, specifically designed for the Model for Prediction Across Scales (MPAS) framework. Flow routing information, including flow directions, flow accumulations, and stream networks, was subsequently derived using the HexWatershed model. These datasets can be utilized for a variety of hydrological and hydrodynamic modeling applications, including flood prediction, water resource management, and ecological studies. Importantly, these datasets can also be integrated into coupled land-river-ocean simulations within the MPAS framework, enabling comprehensive investigations of coastal processes and their interactions with inland hydrology. The file system is organized using the default HexWatershed simulation structure. PyFlowline is run as a component within HexWatershed. In each component (HexWatershed + PyFlowline), 13 watersheds were directly burned within the study domain. For details on how HexWatershed and PyFlowline work, please refer to the following publications: https://doi.org/10.1029/2022MS003089 https://doi.org/10.21105/joss.05446, and https://doi.org/10.1029/2022MS003487. Additional post-processing is necessary to derive other flow routing parameters, such as river channel width and depth.
