De novo Transcriptome Sequencing of the potent medicinal plant Piper chaba Hunt.

Piper chaba Hunt., a flowering vine from the Piperaceae family, is native to South and Southeast Asia, known as Choi Jhal in Bangladesh and Badi Pipali in India. It possesses pungent aromatic properties and is used for its anthelmintic, carminative, and expectorant properties in treating coughs, colds, and bronchitis. Despite its medicinal uses, the molecular mechanisms underlying its effects remain poorly understood. Transcriptomic analysis aims to uncover the genes and their expression levels across different plant tissues, shedding light on the key regulatory genes involved in specific biological processes.
