The floor area of data centers in Japan's Kanto region amounted to 2.69 million square meters in 2023. The Kanto area, which includes Tokyo, is home to many major data center operators and user companies. Since the total floor area during that year was estimated at 4.35 million square meters, the Kanto region made up more than 61 percent of the total floor area in Japan.
