Understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying variation in lifespan is central to ensure long life and postpone aging. There is growing evidence that changes in expression of key lifespan regulators during early development are crucially important for lifespan determination.To study the early developmental impact of Lim3on Drosophila lifespan we performed a Lim3knockdown at early stages of Drosophiladevelopment. We detected the significant decrease of lifespan both in Drosophila males and females with depleted Lim3expression and revealed it to be associated with mitochondriala activity. Two biological samples were analyzed. Each biological sample contained 100–200 mkg embryos of 0- to 16-hour from flies obtained by crossing a Drosophila line (y1 w*; P{en2.4-GAL4}e22c; P{tGPH}4/TM3, Ser1) that was used to induce the expression of transgenic constructs during early Drosophila development and a fly line (y1 v1; P{TRiP.JF02125}attP2) that was used to provide Lim3 RNAi knockdown or a line (y1 v1; P{y+t7.7=CaryP}attP2) that was used as a control.
