Lab 2, week 3

On Tuesday September 23rd, at 4:20pm in the forest at York University, a tree that was at least 3.4 metres tall (or about two times the measure's height) was found on the edge of the forest. The measurer then walked straight towards the centre of the forest. When they encountered a tree that was at least 3.4 metres tall again, the distance from the last tree was recorded in metres at the same measurer's breast height (about 1.2 meters) using a transect measuring tape . This was counted as a pair in the data set. Ten pairs of trees were used. The two trees' diameters at breast height were recorded in metres by having one student consistently taking the diameter of the tree using a transect measuring tape at their breast height (about 1.2 metres). Both trees in the pair were observed for their physical condition, by looking at their canopy coverage.
