Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation (CAFO) Land Application Fields

The CAFO Land Application Fields layer features spatial data on the locations of agricultural fields in Michigan that receive waste from Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs). The term "land application" refers to the practice of spreading CAFO waste. This spatial data is sourced from Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plans (CNMPs) and new field request forms submitted to EGLE by the CAFO facilities. EGLE will update this layer periodically as new data is received.
