Compared with the mono-cultured Ketogulonicigenium vulgare, mono-cultured Ketogulonicigenium robustum SPU B003 shows the more rapid growth characteristics and capability to synthesize 2-KGA. The complete genome of strain SPU B003 will help us to deeply reveal the mechanism which the companion strain B. megaterium provides nutrient or metabolic substrate to stimulates the growth and 2-KGA production of K. vulgare.
