The relative frequency of CD4+ T lymphocyte subsets in colonic lamina propria and spleen from chimeric penk+/+ and penk-/- mice was estimated by cytofluorometry. Spleen cells from chimeric penk+/+ and penk-/- mice were isolated by cell-sorting as myeloid cells, B lymphocytes and CD4 and CD8 T lymphocytes. Penk mRNA expression was quantified by real-time PCR normalized to the HPRT mRNA and quantified relative to standard mouse brain cDNA.
