Additional file 6. Candidate genes showing signatures of selection in the pleometrotic population identified by our two selection scan approaches (FST and xpEHH). 34 likely functional genes were kept as they are not encoding TE proteins, are expressed, or homologous to other known insect proteins (see Methods). The six candidate genes depicted in Fig. 4b are highlighted in bold formatting for emphasis.
