ISSP 2006 Role of Government IV is a cross sectional study which was carried out in a number of countries between March 2005 and June 2008. ISSP (International Social Survey Programme) is an international organisation aimed at conducting surveys on subjects which are important in social sciences. As of 2008 44 countries are part of the ISSP. The following countries took part in the survey: Australia, Canada, Chile, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, the Dominican Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Latvia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Norway, the Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, the USA, Uruguay and Venezuela. This survey is the fourth out of a number of surveys conducted by the ISSP on the role of government. The three previous surveys were carried out in 1985, 1990 and 1996. The Danish survey focuses on the Danes and the Danish authorities and 1368 respondents took part in the survey.
