VPRS 7112 Register of Applications to Use Liquid Fuel

This register records recommendations to the Liquid Fuel Control Board regarding the granting of a variety of licenses and license renewals, amendments and requests for fuel. Liquid Fuel Boards were required to be established by al State Governments under direction of the Commonwealth Government in order to ration fuel as a war measure from 1941. Entries record the applicant's name; sometimes a license number; the type of vehicle or engine for which fuel is required; the reason for the request for fuel (for example, petrol for travel to shear sheep, for travel between properties, for use in portable shearing plant or for pumping water or cutting chaff, wood, etc); the amount of fuel requested; the recommendation for approval and the date. Some loose copies of correspondence from applicants to the Board have been included and some entries include a summary of the correspondence.
