Dataset of agricultural labor force characteristics and mechanization adoption

This dataset was generated and processed by the Yantai Agricultural Science Research Institute, Shandong, China, through a peasant household survey workflow. The process began with the design of a structured questionnaire based on the research objectives, covering modules such as household demographics, labor force structure, farmland management, agricultural mechanization adoption, and household economics. A multi-stage stratified random sampling method was employed to select representative counties, townships, and villages within high-standard farmland project areas of Shandong Province, culminating in the random selection of farm households for the final sample. Face-to-face interviews during the 2024-2025 period. The final cleaned and anonymized dataset was exported into a non-proprietary format (.xlsx) . This final package constitutes the version deposited in the public repository. The entire process adhered to the institute's internal research ethics guidelines, ensuring data sharing complies with ethical standards while maintaining utility for reuse.
