Data from: Chinese provincial-level new records for 96 resident bird species reveal poleward range shifts

This dataset contains the data supporting the findings of the above article. In summary, this dataset includes 132 new provincial records of 96 bird species from published peer-reviewed papers (2000-2023) in China. The species-level information includes including their biological and ecological traits (body mass, flight capacity, diet diversity, range size, habitat breadth, habitat openness, and centroid latitude). The detailed information on the references of new provincial records and species traits are provided.
