The study aimed to detect heteroresistance in carbapenemase-resistant Klebsiella aerogenes isolates. Considering that resistance to carbapenemases significantly limits therapeutic options and failure of treatment with amikacin due to resistant subpopulations aggravates infections, studies are urgently needed to understand the dynamics related to heteroresistance.
