This limestone obelisk is inscribed with the name of Abi Shemou, King of Byblos. The inscription says: Beloved of Herishef-Re, who was an ancient ram-god whose cult was centered in Heracleopolis Magna. He was identified with Ra and Osiris in Egyptian mythology, as well as Dionysus or Heracles in Greek mythology.
