PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rosin emulsion size agent having good emulsification property even when Merkus pine-derived rosin is used as a raw material rosin， less foaming in papermaking process， and excellent size effect. SOLUTION: The rosin emulsion size agent is obtained by emulsification and dispersion of rosin-based substances including rosin analogs (A1)， and/or reinforced rosin analogs (A2) which are reaction products of rosin analogs (A1) and α，β- unsaturated carboxylic acids and/or their anhydrides， and the rosin analogs (A1) contains Merkus pine-derived rosin analogs (a) and Pinus elliottii-derived rosin analogs (b) as a raw material rosin.
