Popular Discourse on Thinking Time: A Content-Analytic Dataset (2015–2025)

This dataset contains extracted data from 100 online blogs and articles discussing “thinking time” published between 2015 and 2025. The data were collected as part of a qualitative review examining how thinking time is defined, justified, and recommended in popular online discourse. Variables include author characteristics, publication type, use of references, reported benefits of thinking time, recommended daily durations, stated outcomes, and suggested strategies for incorporating thinking time into daily routines. Data were coded using directed content analysis and summarized using descriptive statistics and narrative synthesis. This dataset is intended to support replication, secondary analysis, and research on creativity, productivity, and public-facing health and performance discourse.
