CitationCS: A Citation Network of Computer Science Publications

This repository provides our dataset on publication data from computer science conferences and journals. This dataset extends a previous one constructed as part of our research presented in the following paper: Kazuki Nakajima, Yuya Sasaki, Sohei Tokuno, and George Fletcher. (2024). Quantifying Gendered Citation Imbalance in Computer Science Conferences. Proceedings of the AAAI/ACM Conference on AI, Ethics, and Society, 7(1), 1011–1022. https://doi.org/10.1609/aies.v7i1.31699 The dataset contains 3,720,575 papers, with metadata aggregated from OpenAlex, DBLP, CORE, and SCImago. The dataset is distributed as a single ZIP archive (citation_cs.zip). After unzipping the archive, you will find the following directory structure: citation_cs/├ README.md├ README.pdf└ data/ └ cs_paper_data.jsonl Data File Path: data/cs_paper_data.jsonl Format: JSON Lines (.jsonl). Each line is a JSON object representing a single paper. Total Records: 3,720,575 papers and 22,908,275 internal citations File Size: 4.14 GB (uncompressed) License This dataset is released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. The 'How to Cite This Dataset' section of the README provides the specific format for attribution. Our choice of the CC BY 4.0 license is based on the following: OpenAlex and DBLP: Portions of this dataset are derived from OpenAlex (September 2024 snapshot) and DBLP (July 2024 snapshot). Both sources are distributed under the CC0 1.0 license. SCImago Journal Rank (SJR): This dataset includes journal rank information from the SCImago Portal. Use of this information is permitted on the condition that the SCImago Portal website is cited (please refer to the SCImago Portal).
