Rangewide conservation genetics of Kentucky glade cress (Leavenworthia exigua subsp. laciniata)-

We developed microsatellite markers, used them to genotype populations sampled from throughout the range of Leavenworthia exigua var. laciniata and Leavenworthia exigua var. exigua, and analyzed the data to 1) assess the distinctiveness of L. exigua var laciniata from L. exigua var. exigua, 2) to understand genetic diversity and structuring of genetic variation within and among populations, and 3) used the results to make conservation recommendations for the threatened species L. exigua var. laciniata.
