Time Series of Monthly Rainfall Erosivity derived from 5-minute Interval Rainfall Gauge Records in Oklahoma
收藏资源简介:
Rainfall erosivity is a key parameter in the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE), developed by the United States Department of Agriculture to quantify the combined effects of rainfall and runoff on soil erosion. In this dataset, rainfall erosivity values were derived from 5-minute interval rainfall records collected by 115 active Oklahoma Mesonet sites in the United States. The dataset provides a time series of monthly total rainfall erosivity, enabling direct investigation of temporal patterns over the historical record. It can also be aggregated into long-term average monthly values to predict localized soil loss and to serve as a reliable reference for regional evaluation of rainfall erosivity estimates from currently available global datasets or from coarser-resolution precipitation data (>30-minute intervals). The coordinates of the 115 sites used in this study are available at https://www.mesonet.org/about/mesonet-sites.
