Research Data - Aeolian dust provenance across the Eurasian Asian steppe from grain-size dependent quartz δ¹⁸O in surface soils

This data includes orginal basic geographical information for 24 locations in the steppe regions of Central Asia and East Asia, in Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Inner Mongolia of China, and Xinjiang of China. It also includes the particle size distribution (<2 μm, 2—10 μm, 10—20 μm, 20—50 μm), the quartz content and quartz δ¹⁸O data for each particle size range.
The reference quartz content and quartz δ¹⁸O data for the surface soil of Japan are from Yan et al. (2014), Huo et al. (2018), and for the surface soil of Japan are from Mizota (1982), Mizota and Matsuhisa (1985), Naruse et al. (1986), Mizota et al. (1990), Mizota et al. (1991), Mizota et al. (1992), Inoue et al. (1993), Eguchi et al. (2012), and Nakao et al. (2015).
