Dataset of preprocessed respiration response function (RRF) metrics from patients with ME/CFS and health controls with sedentary lifestyles

We provided the dataset of preprocessed respiration response function (RRF) metrics [height (RRF_H), time to peak (RRF_T), onset latency (RRF_O), and full width at half maximum signal change (RRF_W)] from 80 patients with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), and 94 healthy controls (HCs) with sedentary lifestyles. The dataset can be used to replicate the results of the manuscript titled “Altered cerebrovascular reactivities in myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS): insights from breath-holding fMRI and association with clinical severity”. This manuscript investigated respiration-driven cerebrovascular dynamics in ME/CFS using RRF and their correlation with clinical symptoms. Details of data collection and processing can be found in the manuscript. The demographic and symptom scores were provided in the spreadsheet. Four subject-level datasets were determined: 1. RRF_H.nii: preprocessed RRF height; 2. RRF_T.nii: preprocessed RRF time to peak; 3. RRF_O.nii: preprocessed RRF onset latency; 4. RRF_W.nii: preprocessed RRF full width at half maximum signal change.
