A reference genome assembly of Rattus norvegicus from the Brown Norway inbred rat strain constructed from HiFi reads and long range scaffolding

This is a de novo assembly of the Brown Norway inbred rat strain that utilized long range methods. The strain identity is BN/NHsdMcwi (Rat Genome Database ID RGD_61498). This assembly incorporates optical mapping, chromosomal conformation capture (Hi-C), and PacBio HiFi sequencing data. The final assembly was curated manually using the Wellcome Sanger Institute "Rapid Curation" pipeline. The Genome Reference Consortium (GRC) has assumed stewardship for this assembly.
