Mechanics of Transient Friction in Sheared Granular Layers: Where Rate-and-State Descriptions Succeed and Fail
收藏资源简介:
This repository contains the rheology experimental data presented in the manuscript, "Mechanics of Transient Friction in Sheared Granular Layers: Where Rate-and-State Descriptions Succeed and Fail" The data are presented in five subfolders: velocity-stepping experiments data for silica powder: <silica_powder_vs> slide-hold-slide experiments data for silica powder: <silica_powder_shs> velocity-stepping experiments data for silica powder at different shear zone thicknesses: <shear_zone_thickness_effect> velocity-stepping and slide-hold-slide experiments data for large and small glass beads: <Glass_beads> Most columns of data in the experiments' ".txt" files are self-explanatory (time, shear stress, normal stress, rotational speed, gap). The variable "gap" refers to the thickness of the shear zone in the loading geometry. The test numbers referring to data files are cited in the main manuscript.
