This study is about the management the overqualified employees from a relational perspective. Inspired by shared reality theory, two kinds of relationships with leader (LMX and friendship) are identified and examined in this study. We further explore the mediating role of SRG in Study 2.There are two datasets.Study 1 was a 2*2*2 between-subject design, in which we manipulated the two levels (high vs. low) of three independent variables, including LMX, Friendship, and LMX. Then, we measured outcomes variables such as trust in leader, work alienation, and voice behavior.Study 2 was a time-lagged survey. At Time 1, we measured three independent variables and some demographic information such as gender, age, education level, status and tenure in the company. Two weeks after, we measured the rest of variables at T2.
