Anonymous Questions and Expert Responses in the Sinuiksi Online Question and Answer Service 2014-2015

The dataset consists of questions sent to the Sinuiksi online question and answer service for sexual and gender minorities and the expert responses received. The questions mainly concern experiences related to sexuality and gender, as well as various challenges in life. The individuals who sent questions were mainly young people. The data were collected as part of the Just the two of us? Affective inequalities in intimate relationships research project. Many of the topics in the question-answer pairs relate to different themes of sexuality, such as sexual orientation, sexual identity, and sex. These include reflections on issues such as asexuality and sexual diversity. The material also covers issues related to gender, such as gender diversity, gender identity, gender expression and conflicting experiences of one's own gender. The question-answer pairs reflect a range of concerns and challenges in life. Many of these relate to a need for peer support and the difficulty of expressing feelings. In addition to these, themes that appear in the data include mental health, identity, coming out, dating, loneliness, bullying, romantic relationships, and other relationships. The dataset is only available in Finnish.
