VPRS 4400 Temporary Employment Registers

Under the provisions of Section 33 of the Public Service Act 1884 (No 773) and subsequent Acts, the Public Service Board (VA 886) was required to register the names of fit and proper persons desirous of employment in any temporary work in the Victorian Public Service. The Board was also required to record the kind of work desired by such persons.This series comprises Temporary Employment Registers created under this requirement. The Registers document the Boards function as an employment agency.The Temporary Employment Registers were one source from which temporary employees were selected.
