PSI/India expects that interventions to improve dispensing and counseling behaviors of pharmacy staff will have the largest health impact in relation to MA service provision. Medical detailing is a tool that can change the prescribing and service provision behaviors of health providers within the network. PSI/India's Network Coordinators conducts this detailing through regular visits to the clinics, pharmacies and intermediary outlets surrounding network providers. These medical detailing visits ensures counter attendants know the correct dosage regime and route of administration of MA drugs; establish a network for the management of referrals and complications; and ensure MA products are adequately stocked and sold at the recommended retail price.
