Trascriptome of two similar Streptococcus dysgalactiae strains

Streptococcus dysgalactiae, beta-hemolytic streptococci, causes various infectious disease ranging from relatively mild symptoms to life-threating invasive streptococcal infection known as streptococcal toxic shock syndrome (STSS). To date, it remains unknown what are the key factors for severity. In this study, we conducted transcriptome analysis targeting two similar S. dysgalactiae (99.8% average nucleotide identity) isolates derived from STSS and open pus in order to detect difference of expression of virulence factors.
