Bicycle simulator database

This dataset is the result of a systematic literature review. It contains structured data extracted from 72 scientific publications on bicycle simulator studies. The dataset is organised into thematic fields covering study metadata, participant demographics, and experimental conditions. It includes detailed information on simulator characteristics (e.g., physical setup, motion cueing, visual configuration, and immersion features), as well as recorded behavioural and subjective measures and applied assessment methods. Additional fields provide notes and, where available, author-validated information. Data were collected following a PRISMA-based review process and validated through author feedback where available. The dataset enables comparative analysis of bicycle simulator configurations, applications, and validation practices, and supports future research on simulator design, standardisation, and methodological transparency in cycling safety studies.
