Repository package for "Does LLM translation flatten register variation? Directional asymmetries in Chinese-English and English-Chinese translation"

This repository package contains the derived data, analysis outputs, scripts, and figures supporting the manuscript "Does LLM translation flatten register variation? Directional asymmetries in Chinese-English and English-Chinese translation". The package includes complete-case feature tables, register centroid and distance tables, bootstrap outputs, robustness-check outputs, manuscript figure files, and Python scripts used for translation generation, feature extraction, distance analysis, robustness checks, and manuscript figure preparation. The original COCE and COEC corpus texts and full text-level LLM translation outputs are not redistributed because they may be subject to third-party corpus terms or source-text copyright restrictions. Researchers with lawful access to the corpora can rerun the scripts using the text identifiers and corpus structure described in the repository.
