Comprehensive Dataset on Determinants of Citation Visibility in Peer-Reviewed Journals

This dataset compiles comprehensive bibliometric data from the Revista Cubana de Educación Médica Superior, covering publications indexed in Scopus from 1996 to 2024. It was designed to explore determinants of citation visibility in scientific literature. The dataset includes variables such as publication year, author names, gender estimation, institutional affiliation, country of origin, total citations, and thematic classifications.
The dataset supports a variety of analytical approaches implemented in R, including data diagnostics (dlookr), temporal publication trends, author productivity and citation impact, gender distribution by authorship position, topic-level citation analysis, and geographic patterns of scientific production. It enables graphical representation of bibliometric indicators and facilitates the generation of automated reports, interactive visualizations, and exportable outputs (e.g., Word documents with flextable and officer).
