Saccharomyces cerevisiae strains are widely used for industrial fuel-ethanol production, however, their underlying beneficial genetic polymorphisms remain unclear. We performed whole-genome sequencing analyses of several industrial S. cerevisiae strains to uncover useful genetic diversities for developing S. cerevisiae strains with beneficial traits for efficient bioethanol production from cellulosic biomass.
