Albert Lloyd George Rees Guide to Records

The Albert Lloyd George Rees Guide to Records documents and contextualises the records of Albert Lloyd George Rees, Head of the Chemical Physics Section, CSIR/O, Division of Industrial Chemistry 1944-1958 and Chief of the Division of Chemical Physics 1958-1978.

The Guide is the output of a research database. It was first published in paper format by the Australian Science Archives Project in 1993. An online version of the Guide was published by the Australian Science and Technology Heritage Centre in June 2004.

The records were transferred to the Australian Science Archives Project in 1990. The guide describes 55 inventory items (mostly paper files). The papers documented by the Guide document Rees' association with various organisations, including the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), the Australian Academy of Science, Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO), Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) and the Australian Broadcasting Commission, along with his correspondence, publication, lectures and research. The total collection occupies 516 linear cm of shelf space (or its equivalent).

The records were transferred to the Basser Library at the Australian Academy of Science (MS109). The collection was listed by Rod Buchanan, Gavan McCarthy and Mark Scillio with Lisa O'Sullivan.
