Restoring Mediterranean heathlands for declining birds: Initial responses to mosaic cutting and burning in the Natura 2000 LIFE Program

Bird counts and environmental covariates associated with sampling units in a heathland ecosystem subjected to annual treatments of cutting and burning. Also included are vegetation structural attributes measured in 5 m-radius plots located in treatment and control patches. Data were used to build models of relative abundance of open habitat bird species as a function of spatio-temporal treatment mosaics.
