Corona-KiTa-Studie

All of the approximately 54,000 daycare centres and 45,000 childminders in Germany were able to register to participate in the KiTa register. New registrations were possible not only up to a specific deadline, but throughout the entire field phase from 23 July 2020. Participating childcare centres and childminders were then able to provide information about their facility and the coronavirus situation on a weekly basis, although it was always possible to re-enter the survey even after an interruption of one or more weeks.<br>The catalogue of questions differed between KiTas and KTPS, but remained largely identical within these two groups throughout the entire survey. A revision, in the course of which additional questions were added, took place in calendar week 23/2021.<br>Up to calendar week 37/2021, first-time participants were asked to indicate retrospectively from calendar week 12/2020 onwards in which weeks the centre had closed completely or in groups, so that this information is also available for the period before joining the panel.
