This dataset contains runoff and evapotranspiration driven by precipitation during the growing seasons from 1992 to 2015 in the upper Heihe River Basin. The specific variables included are: precipitation (mm), evapotranspiration (mm), runoff (mm), and soil moisture content (m³/m³). Temporal resolution is annual (growing season), with a spatial resolution of 0.00833°. This dataset was generated via simulations using the Eagleson ecohydrological model, with inputs of meteorological, soil and vegetation parameters. The simulated runoff was validated against in-situ observed runoff data collected during the growing seasons from six sub-basins in the upper Heihe River Basin, including the main stem of the Heihe River, Babao River, Yeniugou, Liyuan River, Wafangcheng and Hongshui River. The correlation coefficient (R) ranges from 0.53 to 0.74, the root mean square error (RMSE) falls between 32.46 and 233.18 mm, and the relative error ranges from -0.66 to -0.0005. The discrepancy between the simulated evapotranspiration and GLEAM ET products ranges from -115.36 mm to 44.1 mm. These simulation results can provide valuable references for hydrological simulation studies in the upper Heihe River Basin.
