Predatory bacterium that attacks cyanobacteria in biological soil crusts

This study was performed to isolate and identify a predatory bacterium of cyanobacteria found in biological soil crusts from the Sonoran Desert, AZ, USA. Multiple steps, including initial collection, serial dilutions and flow cytometry cell sorting were used to produce an enrichment of this organism, with sequencing performed after each step.
