The genome of K. pneumoniae strain 6199 was sequenced and its cps region was analyzed. Through the bioinformatic analysis, we found that the cps locus of strain 6199 contains an insertion sequence (IS) within the wcaJ gene, which led to the alteration of the capsular serotype structure.
