Microbiota of fermented fish products (Pla-ra) from northeastern Thailand

Microbial diversity specifically found in pla-ra samples from northeastern Thailand is still unknown. In this work, we have identified the microbiota in pla-ra from different areas of northeastern Thailand based on analysis of DNA sequences from the V3 V4 region of 16S rRNA gene. Sequences were generated using next-generation sequencing technology without the need for isolation and cultivation of the microorganisms.
