Complete genome of the tomato seed-associated phytobacteria Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. chilensis CFBP 8217 (=ATCC BAA-2690 =ZUM3936), a wild type strain isolated from tomato seed from Chile by Bert Woudt, reported as non-pathogen (Yasuhara-Bell and Alvarez, 2015) that harbors one plasmid. The genomic description of this subspecies within the genus Clavibacter constitutes a remarkable insight for distinguishing at a genomic level the divergences between non-pathogenic and truth tomato pathogens such as C. michiganensis subsp. michiganensis, the causal agent of canker and tomato wilting, especially for international seed certification programs.
