A dataset on inventory and geographical distributions of vascular plants in Yulong Snow Mountain，Yunnan，China

The cataloging of vascular plants is of great significance for plant diversity conservation and plant resources sustainable exploitation and utilization. As one of the 36 biodiversity hotspots in the world, Yulong Snow Mountain is located in the transition area, which is between the subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest area in northern Yunnan Plateau and the mountain cold-warm coniferous forest area on the southeastern margin of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The region has distinct characteristics, rich biological resources and strong representativeness.At present, different scientific research institutions have carried out many field scientific investigation in this region, but there is a lack of arrangement of vascular plants. This dataset integrates basic vascular plant diversity data of Yulong Snow Mountain. And it is of great significance to carry out the plant investigation, evaluation and protection.This data set includes 1 data file and 1 data table, with a total of 2926 records (rows) and 25 fields (columns). Sequence number is the records which catalogued in this data set. Main categories of vascular plants is divided into lycopodium and fern, gymnosperms and angiosperms. Sequence number of family is a series number of the familys. Chinese family is the Chinese name of the family. Chinese genus is the Chinese name of the genu. Genus is the generic name. FOC is mainly reference for taxonomic treatment. Rank is divided into species, subspecies, varieties and variants. Growth status can be wild, cultivated or both. Distribution areasthe is the specific distribution site of this species in the Yulong Snow Mountain. Knownledge degree is divided into clear(published, both found in the wild and documented in specimens or one of them) and doubtful(published, neither found in the wild nor recorded in specimens). There are two levels: Level 1 and Level 2 in the National Key Protected Wild Plants List (2021). Six levels(CR, EN, VU, NT, LC, DD) are in endangered rating of IUCN. Three levels in the Yunnan Province Key Protected Wild Plants List of the first batch(1989). Distribution altitude is the elevation information(by field investigation or specimen information) of species. Voucher specimen collection number is an important part of this data set and represents the authenticity of data information. Resource Type are divided into oil plants, wood plants, ornamental plants, edible plants, medicinal plants, feed plants and fiber plants. The same species may have multiple uses. The missing value is that the species has only scientific or ecological value, and no other uses are clearly recorded. For the data sources, there may be multiple sources for the same record. Missing values are new discoveries in the region. Scientific name in data sources are all from the Flora. The change with scientific name in data sources are classified as unchanged, change of rank, change of genus name, correction of spelling, misuse of name and so on.
