Entre 1993 y 1994, como extension de los trabajos volcanologicos y
geomorfologicos en el sector noreste de la Peninsula Antartica se
estudiaron los volcanes submarinos, en parte activos, del estrecho de
Bransfield, "Rifting and Volcanism on the Antarctic Peninsula,
proyecto de investigacion NSF OPP-8817126 del College of
Oceanography. de la Universidad del Estado de Oregon, EEUU dirigido
por el Dr. M. Fisk.
In English:
Between 1993 and 1994, as an extension of volcanological and
geomorphological studies in the northeast sector of the Antarctic
Peninsula, researchers studied partially active submarine volcanoes
of the Bransfield Strait. This work is conducted as part of the
United States National Science Foundation Office of Polar Programs
(NSF OPP) project, Rifting and Volcanism on the Antarctic Peninsula,
Antarctica (NSF OPP Project No. 8817126). The project was directed by
Dr. M. Fisk, College of Oceanic & Atmospheric Sciences, Oregon State
University, USA.
