Metaphern, Träume und musiktherapeutische Improvisationen in der Psychotherapie Metaphors, Dreams and Music Therapy Improvisation in Psychotherapy

Anhand der Diskussion zweier therapeutischer Prozesse soll die Bedeutung von Metaphern, Träumen und musiktherapeutischen Improvisationen für die therapeutische Arbeit mit früh gestörten Menschen deutlich gemacht werden. Die Autonomie-Entwicklung dieser Menschen ist erheblich beeinträchtigt aufgrund traumatisierender Beziehungserfahrungen, die sogenannte „schwarze Löcher“ im Selbst-Objekt-Kontinuum bilden: Bereiche, die von einer Weiterentwicklung ausgeschlossen bleiben und mit denen die betroffenen Menschen im Wiederholungszwang gefangen bleiben. Im Kontext eines therapeutischen interaktiven Containings kann ein Metaphorisierungsprozess in Gang gesetzt werden. Dabei entstehen sinnlich-symbolische Interaktionsformen, jedoch auf unterschiedlichem strukturellen Niveau. Es zeigt sich, dass die Verwendung von Metaphern an Voraussetzungen geknüpft ist im Unterschied zur Möglichkeit der Metaphorisierung körpernaher, gestisch-intentionaler Interaktionsformen mittels musiktherapeutischer Improvisationen. Drawing from two examples of therapeutic processes, the significance of metaphors, dreams and music therapy improvisation in therapy involving early childhood disorders are examined. Due to relationships marked by traumatic experiences, the development of autonomy is impaired significantly by these clients. Such experiences form so-called “black holes” in the self-object-continuum, causing areas to be closed off from further development and leaving these clients trapped in compulsive repetition. Within the context of therapeutically interactive containment, a metaphoric process is set into motion. This generates sensual-symbolic forms of interaction at various structural levels. It appears that the use of metaphor is limited to preconditions, differing from the possibilities of metaphorical interaction forms using intentional gesture through music therapy improvisation. peerReviewed publishedVersion
