Transcriptome Analysis of Populus Euphraticain in Response to Drought Stress

Populus euphratica is a multi-stress tolerant poplar species which use to survive in extreme drought and high salinity environments. Despite its importance for large-scale afforestation projects in arid or semiarid regions, only a few genomic or transcriptomic data are available for this species. To characterize the transcriptome and identify genes involved in response to drought, we sequenced the transcriptomes of P. euphratica leaves under drought stress and in well watered condition, using 454 FLX Titanium high-throughput pyrosequencing.
